Worth-It Restaurants in San Pablo City

Worth-It Restaurants in San Pablo List in No Particular Order (Updated February 2020)

Not a day passes by in a week that you will not spot us in any of the worth-it restaurants in San Pablo City, Laguna – our renowned base. We are self-confessed food lovers (which is getting evident on our build). Nevertheless, we don’t have time to throw together a meal due to demanding schedules. That’s why we are often seen feasting out, mainly in the evenings.

For most of the people in San Pablo City, choosing where to eat could be a grim task. Even with the growing number of restaurants in the city, we still have a few tested ones. Once we know good food, we always keep coming back.

Here are diners that we have frequented in San Pablo City so far.

There is one take-out rice-in-a-box counter at Brgy. Bagong Bayan (just beside Bagong Bayan Elementary School and in front of the chapel). The price is very affordable (as in super). Try their sisig or dinakdakan (Php120/order).

Hermiña’s Kamayan

Hermiña’s is a new diner at downtown San Pablo. They just had their opening last 02 Apr 2019. If you are familiar with the old location of Sundae Sushi and Spaghetti Bar (near Adventist church), that’s where this new spot is located. The reviews are so true. Despite the hot and humid weather, the setup of Hermiñas Kamayan is still snug (with music, open-air, plain tables and chairs, designated smoking area, well-lit place). The portions and tastes of their meals are satisfyingly more than what the price commands. They also have free soup and free candies (at the time of the posting) and the familiar add a certain amount and get unlimited rice. They also feature their “equality wall” and their equally super friendly and accommodating staffs.

Kaven’s Mami House

This mami house which runs for 30 years is our go-to mamian whether it rains or not. Their price range could be a tad higher than the regular mami house in town. Yet, the taste justifies the price. They also serve “bat and ball” of a cow, a not so exotic dish. On the other hand, their silog meals includes the basic silog meal, ripe banana, mami soup, tomato, and a slice of cucumber. If you wanna visit it, just look for the old Fab’s or the spot near the City Sub stop light.

Miguel’s Meat Hub

Good thing we tried this restaurant at the time that they are located at their first location (along T. Azucena). It’s definitely not a let-down! Their foods taste really amazing (pork salpicao, beef jerky, beef pares, and even their burger). Our all-time favourite is their beef pares (Manila version). Of course, who wouldn’t want free refreshing drinks! This is absolutely worth-a-try!

New Marilyn’s Restaurant

Marilyn’s, as we plainly call it, is an old restaurant that has been relocated a few years ago. Before, they are located at Schetelig Ave. Marilyn’s has been known for their all-time favorite pansit, garlic chicken, and siopao. Their garlic chicken is good as snacks or can be a party dish. This diner has a parking space so waiting won’t be a problem on regular hours. You may also place your order in advanced by calling the phone number provided herewith.

Hungry Gorilla Burger

If you’re a burger lover, then you should check out this diner near San Pablo City Capitol Compound. They’ll serve you whopping, yummy burgers! You could also grab their dine-in upgrades (drinks and fries). This is another inexpensive food heaven. And, their staffs are accommodating. However, just be warned again of the long (yet tolerable) wait due to the usual number of orders.

Kusina El Mare

During wet and cold days, Kusina El Mare always has a dear place in our discussion list. Kusina El Mare serves the best Batangas bulalo in San Pablo City (in terms of price, servings, cleanliness, and taste). We’ve already tasted bulalo from other restaurants here in San Pablo City. To be honest, most of them taste like nilagang baka or just artificial flavors. Other than bulalo, they also have lutong ulam.

Lake Mohicap (Nanay Cela’s Inasal)

If you want to spend your weekend with two things: the best foods and the relaxing nature, then you should visit this super awesome spot! For the price and the view that it offers, this is an unbeatable deal. They offer the following menu:

  • Nanay Cela’s Chicken Inasal (with rice) – Php99.00
  • Pork Liempo Ala Mohicap (with rice) – Php99.00
  • Pork Barbeque (2pcs. with rice) – Php60.00
  • Kulawong Puso ng Saging (ala carte, good for 3 persons) – Php100.00

Please note, however, that these foodies are just available every weekends. You may order tilapia but it you should inform the management a day prior to your visit.

You Japanese Restaurant

Located near the San Pablo City Central School, this is one of our favorites among the list of worth-it restaurants. The prices are still sensible and within our means, though their management decided to push most of the prices up due to inflation. Honestly, we are not really into Japanese foods due to food allergies, but they have meals that we could still enjoy. The staffs are also effortlessly welcoming. Moreover, you may watch them while they prepare your order.

Dhang’s Fresh Tilapia

Are you tired of eating red meat? If you love fish or other seafood, then you need to visit and try Dhang’s Tilapia. It started with its first successful branch at San Roque. After amassing upbeat feedbacks from its regulars, it expanded with its second branch at the Shell Gasoline Station at Concepcion. Several months ago, they shifted their first branch to a bigger space. Anyhow, be wary of the higher prices as compared with your regular carinderia.

Pansit Malabon Express (San Pablo City Branch)

One of the most common fares, especially during food parties, is pansit (of any sort). The Pansit Malabon in this food hub is a winner, considering the taste and generous servings. They also have rice meals, other pansit variations, and small meals. Other than the remarkable food tastes, their staffs are also helpful and welcoming. To date, they offer different services (dine out, take-out, delivery, and even small party/gatherings).
